PR1
Rubber
PR1 is a refined recycled rubber blend, manufactured in New Zealand from recycled tyres and designed to integrate into existing arena footing. It improves the resilience of the riding surface by adding body, shock absorption, and long-term durability while maintaining stable, consistent footing.
Unlike organic additives, PR1 will not break down, develop mould, create excessive dust or compact over time. Its resilient composition helps it remain evenly distributed throughout the arena, reducing maintenance while providing a reliable riding surface.
PR1 is designed to be used as an additive to an existing sand arena rather than as a stand-alone footing material. For best results, we recommend a minimum sand depth of 50 mm to ensure even coverage and prevent horses from reaching the underlying base.
PR2
Rubber & Fibre Blend
PR2 is a balanced blend of recycled rubber and extracted tyre fibre, combining the cushioning and resilience of rubber with the reinforcing properties of fibre. This creates a surface with added structure, elasticity and improved footing response, making it ideal for arenas that see regular training and competition use.
The combination of rubber and fibre helps the surface maintain its consistency under repeated use while reducing compaction and supporting a more stable ride. Like all PrimeRide products, PR2 is manufactured in New Zealand from recycled materials and is designed to be mixed with an existing sand arena.
PR2 is an excellent choice for riders looking to upgrade their arena with a surface that offers a balance of cushioning, stability, and durability. It is particularly well suited to busy training facilities, private arenas with frequent use, and riders wanting a more responsive surface than rubber alone.
PR3
Fibre
PR3 is best suited to irrigated arenas.This allows the fibre to remain settled within the sand/rubber profile. Fibre effectively improves surface stability, retains moisture, minimises dust, and provides a consistent, resilient footing for everyday training and competition.

Primeride™ can be incorporated into both newly constructed arenas and existing riding surfaces to improve footing, consistency, and overall performance. Whether you’re building from scratch or upgrading an arena, our team is available to offer advice and support.
For optimal results, we generally recommend a base layer of compacted rock, followed by crusher dust, and finished with a sand surface blended with PrimeRide™.
